This plant was the first of four facilities designed, built and operated by Ocean Conversion (Cayman) Limited (OCC) for the Water Authority-Cayman. The Water Authority-Cayman is the government agency responsible for water supply and distribution to the areas of Grand Cayman outside of the Seven Mile Beach / West Bay service area serviced by Cayman Water Company.
This facility was commissioned in 1990 with a capacity of 350,000 US gallons per day. Over the years, as demand dictated, this facility was expanded to its current capacity of over 1.3 million US gallons of water per day.
