Consolidated Water (CWCO) was amongst twenty-four recipients of the Builders of Cayman award for the 2026 National Heroes Day, held on Monday, January 26, 2026, George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Each year on National Heroes Day, the Cayman Islands honours residents who have made valuable contributions to our nation while remembering our National Heroes. The theme for National Heroes Day 2026 is Honouring a Nation Built: The Power of Physical Infrastructure.
CWCO was established in 1973 to provide the Island’s first piped water supply to a residential development in the area that would become the renowned Seven Mile Beach tourist district. Since then, we have designed and built all of the desalination facilities on Grand Cayman and currently operate most of them, either through our locally owned utility or through design-build-operate contracts for bulk water supply to the Government.
CWCO has made transformative contributions to major national infrastructure projects that have had a lasting impact on the physical and civic landscape of the Cayman Islands. In addition, we have demonstrated strong commitment to social responsibility, innovation, and community engagement through efforts such as environmental stewardship, voluntary or community service, and contributions beyond our core mandate in support of national development goals.
