About the project
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply entered into an agreement with Kalaeloa Desalco LLC, a jointly-owned subsidiary of PERC Water and our parent company, Consolidated Water Co. Ltd., to design, construct, operate and maintain a seawater desalination facility in Campbell Industrial Park in Kapolei, HI.
The new KSDF will embrace practical measures to minimize reliance on fossil fuels and incorporate materials and systems that support a healthy environment. By maximizing opportunities to provide natural light, natural ventilation, and nighttime cooling, the design will result in reduced operational costs. Additional considerations have been taken to promote extended Facility life, ensuring BWS and the surrounding community receive the most benefit from the new Facility.
The Kalaeloa Seawater Desalination facility (KSDF) will provide a high-quality local water supply that is drought-proof, sustainable, enhances water resilience to climate change and reduces water transfers from Central O‘ahu.
